Robert Joseph Vicario, Sr., 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Ardie R. Copas State Veterans' Home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He was the beloved husband of the late Emma D. (Santucci) Vicario. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Frederick and Maria (Lonardo) Vicario.
Mr. Vicario retired from Bank of America, where he was a loan officer serving the needs of auto dealerships. After retiring, he owned and operated the Castle Spa on Chalkstone Avenue in Providence with his sons Robert Vicario Jr. and Michael. He served in the Navy during WWII and was an honored veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Roberta A. Cherella (Vicario); two sons, Robert J. Vicario, Jr.; his wife Jeanne, Michael J. Vicario; and his wife Laurie; and his dear sister, Pauline Krekorian. He was a loving grandfather of David Cherella, Ashley Breedlove, Lauren Vicario, and Nicole Vicario and had four great-grandchildren, Leo, Naomi, Savannah, and Gionna, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert Vicario Sr. was the brother of the late Vincent F. Vicario and the late Olga M. Forlingieri and a devoted companion of the late Mary A. (Derderian) Legros of West Greenwich.

Mr. Vicario’s VISITATION will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 20th at 11 a.m. in St. Veronica’s Church, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boystown.org.
